Our children are gifts to our community from God and valuable members of City Church. The goal of our children’s ministry is to help children know Jesus’ saving love and to understand their lives and the world around them in light of his story. We seek to come alongside families as they train children in godliness, working toward the hope that through our children’s participation with each other and in the City Church community, they will grow into the wisdom and faith that God desires for each of us.

Our children's classes use gospel-centered curriculum with scripture, stories, and activities to allow them opportunities to form spiritual friendships with their peers and teachers.

Nursery is provided as an option for families with children 4 – 24 months for the duration of the service.

Children’s Church

Toddler twos, preschool, and kindergarten children attend the first part of worship and dismiss for their classes just before the sermon. 1st – 5th graders dismiss for Children's Church at this time and will return prior to communion.

At City Church we our passionate about creating a fun and safe environment for kids to learn about Jesus and how He’s created them! Come have fun with us as a Children's Ministry volunteer.

In accordance with PA state and federal guidelines, all Children’s Ministry volunteers must have clearances on file. We take the safety of our children, volunteers, and staff seriously.

You can serve in one of these three roles:

  • Teachers (serve 1x/month with either 1st-5th grade, PreK/K or preschool). Teachers arrive at 10:15 to finalize room set-up. Teacher for 1st-5th grade teaches for about 30 minutes and then walks the kids back to their parents in time to take communion. Teachers for PreK/K and Preschool teach and then remain with children until the service is finished. After children are picked up, teachers spend about 10 minutes picking up classrooms.

  • Helpers (serve 1x every 2 months with either 1st-5th grade, PreK/K or preschool). Teacher helpers assist the Sunday School teacher by helping with classroom management, distributing supplies, and other kinds of support tasks. After children are picked up, helpers spend about 10 minutes picking up classrooms.

  • Nursery Workers (serve 1x every 2 months with children 4-24 months old). Report to the nursery room at 10:20, so that there are volunteers in the nursery when the service starts and parents begin to bring their kids back. Volunteers hold babies, change diapers, and play as needed. After children are picked up, volunteers put away toys and clean changing pad area.
