Welcome!

City Church is a worshipping community in University City and Fairmount committed to the belief that the historic Christian gospel is true, compelling, and transformative. We are a gathered people from all walks and stages of life, held together by the common bond of God's love toward us in Jesus Christ.

Join us Sundays at 10:30am in UCity and 4:30pm in Fairmount.

When we gather as God’s guests at God’s table, the Church becomes what it is meant to be — a community of strangers who have become guests together and are listening to the invitation of God.
— Rowan Williams

What Can I Expect on a Sunday?

WELCOME

City Church is a warm, welcoming community—regardless of your background, beliefs, or life situation. Come as you are, and we look forward to welcoming you to worship.

WORSHIP STYLE

Worship at City Church is a blend of the old and the new—in both our liturgy and our music. By using prayers, texts, and tunes shared by God's people across centuries, continents, and cultures, we acknowledge our place in the larger story of God's work in his world. By using new songs and prayers written by and for our own church community, and by involving local artists from Philadelphia's rich music scene, we celebrate God's presence and activity among us here and now in this city.

CHILDREN IN WORSHIP

Kids of all ages are encouraged to participate in worship as fully as they can. For infants and toddlers, nursery is provided during the entire service. For older kids (pre-school – 2nd grade), age-appropriate classes are offered during part of the worship service.
