prayer

We strive to make prayer a priority in our worship together, our fellowship with one another, and in our individual daily lives. Prayer is a subversive act in a culture starved for a deep experience of the soul. Prayer anchored in Christ reminds us that striving for mystical experiences cannot substitute for true intimacy with the living God. Each week during worship we draw our many prayers together into the very prayer that Jesus taught his disciples:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever and ever.
Amen.
