our beliefs
We anchor our life together in the historic expressions of the Christian faith known as the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. In addition, the breadth of church history impacts our priorities, our practices, our mission, and our government. We trace our theological roots to the Reformed branch of Protestantism, outlined in the Belgic Confession (1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (1563), and the Westminster Standards (1646). We identify with the Presbyterian tradition, which provides us with a system of government and accountability. We began in 2006 as an initiative of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC and Redeemer City to City.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
